Nano nutrient delivery and its use in therapy for horses
Horses are powerful and yet very graceful animals with strong muscles and nice, long limbs. Those same attributes make their joints and tendons fragile, especially in the human environment, confined lifestyle, unnatural movement patterns and surfaces. When dealing with joint and tendon injuries, the biggest goals are faster nutrient delivery and suppression of the inflammation. Cooling longer than 48 hours is detrimental. Injections create pressure and surgery causes further trauma and inflammation. Most of the tendon and joint injuries never fully recover and the horse never returns to the original performance. Scar tissues and lack of flexibility are a ticking bomb which cause new injuries over time.
The biggest obstacle to rapid recovery is the structure of the connective tissue itself. Tendon and joint cells are badly nurtured due to the tight collagen structures, which makes it impossible to deliver key nutrients like vitamin C and hyaluronic acid to the distant limbs of a horse. To circumvent this problem, we nanorize key nutrients and deliver it over the skin, on spot, without any operation, injection, or other type of invasion.
This non-invasive method is a break-through and our library of ultrasound results is proof of the concept. The key is to be able to bring the nutrients to the target tissue without relying on the rest of the metabolism. Once the nutrients are broken down to single digit molecules, they reach a 20-600 nanometer size, which leads to deep penetration and good saturation on the target area.
