Monique is the owner of Bea, an 8-year-old Friesian mare she rides in dressage and has been competing with for about a year and a half.

“Bea is really a sweet horse. I can do everything with her: go to the beach, the forest, and she’s well-behaved in new environments. She’s just a very nice horse.”

But not long after buying her, Monique noticed something wasn’t quite right.
“She was 2.5 at the time and on the lunge line she struggled with trotting and picking up canter. She was slow and didn’t really want to move. It got a little better under saddle, but not naturally.”
